Q: I am a young man from

I was a professional boxer and now I am a (Part No. 26; Page No. 296) coach. I do not know the ruling on this kind of sport. Would you please inform me as well as my fellow brothers in
Djelfa
city about the ruling on this kind of sport? Is it Halal (lawful) or Haram (prohibited)? Please provide us with evidence. It is worth mentioning that I receive a salary for training young men.
A:
It is not permissible to play
Boxing because it is dangerous. Allah (Exalted be He) says,
...and do not throw yourselves into destruction
and
And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allâh is Most Merciful to you.
Boxing causes great harm without any benefit and therefore, it is Haram. You should abandon this kind of sport and practice any other useful sport.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
