First: If you wish
to exchange local currency for a foreign one, there is no harm provided that the exchange takes place on the spot. Receiving the check stands for receiving the amount written in the check.Second: It is permissible for a traveler to exchange local currency for a foreign currency according to the same previous condition; that it is hand to hand.
