Intermittent and irregular menstruation at its beginning

Q 2: I notice that my period that usually lasts for seven or eight days is not regular especially during the first four days. Sometimes, I find it in the morning, but it stops at night. I perform Taharah (ritual purification) more than once a day so as to observe Salah (Prayer). What is your opinion with regard to this matter that disturbs me a lot? Should I perform Taharah and offer Salah whenever the period stops, although this happens more than once a day or should I wait until it stops completely? May Allah reward you with the best.

A: Since your menstruation lasts for seven or eight days, its cessation at any time during this period, whether in the day or night, does not mean (Part No. 4; Page No. 210) that it is over or that you should perform Taharah. The ruling of menstruation will remain in force as long as you are still in the days of your usual monthly period. You do not have to make Ghusl (full ritual bath) except after complete cessation of bleeding after the days of your usual monthly period are over.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
