Q 8: I know that if a man has a female slave, he is permitted to treat her like a wife in terms of intimate relations. However, what if the matter is the other way round, i.e.,
if a free woman has a male slave, is she allowed to use her slave as she wishes in regard to sexual intercourse and other matters?
Who has the authority after that?
A:
According to the Ijma‘ (consensus) of Muslims, it is not permissible for a woman who has a male slave to let him be intimate with her and enjoy her as a husband does with his wife or as a master does with his female slave. As for having authority to manage her affairs, the woman has the authority over her slave. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet, his family, and Companions.
