Paying the costs of Hajj in installments from one's salary

Q: Is it permissible for a person to pay the costs of Hajj in installments from their salary to be able to perform Hajj? In other words, he will pay only 25% of the required cost of Hajj and the remaining sums will be paid in monthly installments from his salary. Appreciate your guidance, may Allah reward you with the best.

A: Performance of Hajj is only obligatory on a person who is physically and financially able to do it by having the means of provision and costs of transport, i.e. the costs of his round trip journey. As for a person who takes a loan on his salary to secure the costs of his travel, his Hajj is acceptable and he will no more be obliged to perform it. However, the act of borrowing money for this purpose is not obligatory on him.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
