Q 2: A man swore by Allah (Exalted be He) to do something after a week but he did it after a month. Should he offer Kaffarah (expiation) for having broken his oath? (Part No. 23; Page No. 91


A: If a person swears to do something after a week, but he does it after a month, he should offer Kaffarah for his oath. The Kaffarah is to feed ten Miskins (needy persons), or to provide them with clothing, or to emancipate a believing slave. If none of these is affordable, he must observe Sawm (Fast) for three days.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
