Can people other than prophets and messengers receive revelation?

Q: Did Allah reveal anything to any of His creatures other than His Prophets?

A: We do not know that Allah revealed legislation to any one other than His prophets and messengers (peace be upon them).But as to inspiration, Allah inspired Um Musa and the bees. Allah (Exalted be He) says: And We inspired the mother of Mûsâ (Moses): (telling): "Suckle him [Mûsâ (Moses)], but when you fear for him, then cast him into the river and fear not, nor grieve. Verily, We shall bring him back to you, and shall make him one of (Our) Messengers." [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi] and And your Lord inspired the bees, saying: "Take you habitations in the mountains and in the trees and in what they erect. (Part No. 3; Page No. 277) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
