Does intention render divorce counted?

A: If the reality is as mentioned, that he said to his wife after quarreling with her, "If you are destined to get divorce, it will befall you" and said nothing else, this is not considered divorce; rather, it is a promise of divorce. If he divorces her after that promise, his divorce will count. If he does not, this promise will not affect his marital life. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
